Composer William Malcolm Jones was brought up in the Dulais Valley in South Wales. The early part of his life was emersed in Welsh Chapel , Hymn singing, Camanfa Ganu where he sang solo as a boy soprano.. When he was seven his mother took him to the local carnival where he heard and fell in love with his local brass band, he has been involved in banding as a Player, Musical Director, band trainer and teacher since then. At fifteen years of age he joined the Welsh Guards Band and attended  the Junior Musicians Wing Pibright, then the Royal Military School of Music Kneller Hall. He later studied composition under Arthur Butterworth and holds an (Hons) degree from Sheffield University. Music has been the main road of his life, he has been involved with Brass Bands, Military Bands, Big Bands and Orchestras he is also a Jazz Trombonist.  Sadly his playing carrer came to an abrupt end after a seriouse illness left him unable to play, Thankfully he had studied composition so he was able to turn his hand to musical composition and arranging as for him life without music is unthinkable.. His musical education and musical experience give him a wide understanding of his craft and  a wide understanding of many musical genres .  My film credits are " Billy the Seal" "Cwmdulais Suite" "Romance In the Air (Bafta Cymru nomination best animation)" Iron Country" "Elba" "Belonging" "Incubus Succubus" "Seasons of Change" "Rhondda Songs" "Behind the Stone" "Tredegar House" " Just A Cool Place"
